Default Suppliments

For those of you guys who are into working out and bodybuilding, what are your favorite suppliments?

I've been taking a natural HGH releaser (called MediTropin) for a while and it's by far the most effective thing I've ever used, for altering my BMI. I can literally feel it working when I lay down to go to sleep. The drawback is the astronomical price though.

I've used Creatine before with moderate results, although since that is only good for weight gain I tend to use that seasonally when I'm doing a weight gain program which I generally only do in the winter. It's not all it's cracked up to be but I have noticed small results with it.

Anyone else recommend anything they've found to be effective?

I just use Whey Protein from Walmart. I know it might not be the best but do to losing my job and getting a new job making less it is all I want to spend. I do notice results from using it. I really just need to crack down on my diet. Have you ever try any of that stuff that makes your vain's larger to increase blood flow? I always wondered if that stuff works.

Well the high-protein diet makes the biggest difference out of anything, I think. Suppliments provide the extra edge after one's diet is in order.

Stuff to make your veins larger? Never heard of it, do you know what the product called?

Yes xplode is the one I was thinking about. I agree w/you that the better quality supplments provide bigger gains. Xplode just opens up your veins so more nuntirents can get through or something like that.

I've been doing this for a long time. Before MArk McGuire got busted for doing Andro, the supplements out there were great-no need to do juice it. Now since they've banned all pro-hormones, the suppl's out there are only a shell of what they used to be. I use Met/Rx ultra-Myosyn protein. Met/Rx is a good reputible company. I also use Creatine and Glutamine, which kind of work hand in hand with each other to keep the muscle tissues irrigated with nitrogen. I never got ANYTHING from any of those "nitric oxide" suppl's. I try some of the new ones that come out. Most all of them aren't worth anything! The one I have tried that DOES give me a better workout is Muscletech's Luekic. It does seem to give me a better workout. Whtever you decide to try, get online first and google any user reviews to see if it is even worth your time and money. And whatever you do...DON'T EVER GO TO GNC FOR YOUR SUPPLEMENTS!!!!!!!!

Yeah I looked at the BSN NO Xplode site and they said they don't reveal the amounts of each nutrient in the product, supposedly to "protect their recipe", sounds fishy if you ask me. I'll take a look at that Muscletech Luekic you mentioned though.

I just started using beta-alanine which helps with muscle fatigue. Works great. More and more I find the best stuff to use is nothing more than certain amino acids. Glutamine, alanine, histidine, carnitine. All the other stuff is garbage. The good stuff went bye-bye when Mark McGuire got busted by the MLB for using Andro. Bushie banned all pro-hormones shortly there-after.

Which all that does is makes them more expensive. It's silly, I've used andro before with no adverse effects at all, but the benefits were great. The FDA doesn't care about health, since anything that actually works they make illegal. If creatine and protien powders did anything, they would make those illegal too. If it's good for you, it's illegal.

Right. I have used steroids 2 or 3 times in my past when I was big into the whole bodybuilding thing, and there was never anything that compared to the results obtained from the "real deal"...however, those pro-hormones they had before the ban were pretty good. And I'm sure they posed some kind of health threat if used in large quantities and for the long haul. Even when you do steroids, the orals are so hard on your system and your liver because your system is trying to flush them out every day, and you continue to up the dosage as you go so it takes it's toll on your system. The injectable was so mcuh easier on the body, however steroids are ddangerous to your health as taken the way bodybuilders take them. You can get a testosterone injection from your doc for low blood testosterone levels, but the dosage is no where near what bodybuilders use. That's why it's dangerous to your health. So I can see the caution the FDA had about the legal pro-hormones-there's always some yahoo that's gonna take triple the recommended dosage. But really, come on!!!

I'll jump in..

I use protein powder mixed with 2% milk most of the time, but if I plan on hanging around the gym after the workout, I'll just mix with water at the gym. Drink within 30 minutes of ending workout. I have found this really helps. Also mix in some simple carbs to reload the blood sugar.

I also take Amino Balance from Anabal Naturals when I'm in a set lifting routine. But if I'm just doing cardio and taking a break from the weights, I don't take it or the protein powder.

I've tried creatin and found I'm a non responder. No matter how much of the stuff I used, it didn't do anything.

I also started chomping on some benefiber chewables to help make sure I get enough fiber.. (Still haven't made enough of a commitment to weight lifting to get a great diet <G>).

This is the last week of a 12 week program. Next week is cardio only(so no suppliments) then start a new 12 week program..

I enjoy lifting weights A LOT...

You should still take BCAA's when you're on a cardio program, it will prevent you from losing muscle mass during this period of time, so I've been told.
